I don't like the cocky way Johnson walks around the course. I also don't like how he blew a bunch of tournaments when Tiger was gone. If Johnson somehow becomes the best hope for American golfers, he will not perform. He is not clutch at all.

Why do I see a Fowler interview when trying to see the highlights for St. Jude?

Ain't it the truth! Dustin got shafted on getting any coverage...tape delay "coverage" is not coverage in my opinion. Then not to have him featured on espn golf front page...

It really disappoints me that ESPN buried this story like they did. Not only was it not a cover story on the main ESPN page, it didn't even make the lead story on the GOLF page. Come on guys.

Not sure what you're asking for here. JV tournaments should be treated as such.

Rory also threw his club to the ground after hitting into the water on 18. And he had some choice words to say. Hmmmmmm! Isn't that just like Tiger did and he was chastised by many?

Rory finished 3 strokes behind at T7. That's very good. ... I agree that it's highly unlikely that he will be the next Woods or Nicklaus (or Hagen as I like to say) but Rory played a good tournament.

TW wins 2012 US Open by 6 strokes... BANK THAT FOLKS, BANK IT! Not a CHANCE he doesn't win. He's firing on all cylinders, that chip-in on 16 last week will propel the worlds greatest golfer to a victory. You know it, I know it, just accept it!!! He's BAAAAACK!!!!

Tiger's driving accuracy has been better, but I'm going off of his last couple of years. I'm not going to say Tiger is back until he can play consistently like he did at Memorial. I also realize that the PGA tries to make it more difficult to pull the trigger on using the driver at the US Open, however, it doesn't stop the players ( even Tiger) from using it every so often.

Didn't Tiger lead each tournament he won in Driving accuracy and greens hit?

Funny how people forget that. ... I don't imagine Woods, or any player for that matter, will be hitting a whole heck of a lot drivers. Why would you? The USGA takes the club out of the player's hands.

Tiger won't win the US Open by six. It'll be tough for Tiger to keep his ball outta the tall grass. His accuracy is better as of late, but the rough is worse during the US Open. I do hope that Tiger wins, but his driving accuracy has to be top notch. His win at Memorial showed he has his short game mostly back, now he needs to back it up for another week... My guess is either Tiger by two or Tiger will be two off the leader.

I like how you say he dropped his club, more like threw his club in disgust, kind of like Tiger did a few tournaments ago.

This could be a good rivalry. DJ v. McIlroy. I think both are capable of being at the top of the game for the next 6-12 years. Should be fun to watch. I missed McIIroy's 18th hole. What did he do?

I agree should be fun......these guys are players, if they get hot on the weekend it doesn't matter who's in the field, they are going to win golf tournaments.

Dustin Johnson is actually really consistent. He's won 6 times and been right there at the end of two majors. He also doesn't miss many cuts. His only major flaw is his wedge game. People say his putting is poor, but that just isn't true. He makes a lot of putts. I'm sorry, but getting a win each year you've been on the tour qualifies as consistent to me. It's so hard to win a golf tournament.

I don't think either of those players will live up to their potential. DJ has some problem outside the ropes that seems to keep him from winning. Plus to get really technical, that extremely bowed left wrist requires so much to unravel, and involves so much timing, I can't see DJ bing a consistent winner. McIlroy, who knows where his head is, seems as soon as everyone started saying Mcilroy is the next great golfer to come along, he went into his shell and started talking about he need to have a balance of life outside of golf.

That's my point, blandschoot! You and the Tiger Haters have placed all of your chips on Rory. He hasn't delivered! True he has one Major! So do a lot of other golfers!! Where are they now? The one Hit/Major wonders! When Sergio hit the links, the media, the Tiger Haters and so called experts crowned Sergio as the next Tiger Woods and the guy that would take over the golf world by storm. Sergio did not pan out!! Now it's Rory! Same expectations! One Major does not make Rory...King! Woods misses a cut, and the Haters come out in force. Yet, not a peep ab out Rory's three straight missed cuts. Rory Nation blew it off and said, "He'll be back at St. Jude"!! Yeah, right!! He let you guys down once again!! As for Rory playing some amazing golf? Another cheap, fabricated ataboy for Rory! I'm sure lots of golfers on the PGA and Euro Tours play some amazing golf. The bottom line is WINS and MAJORS! There are no WINS or MAJORS for just playing amazing golf. I wonder if Jimmy Johnson loves driving his #48 amazingly during the Daytona 500, leading the most laps as well, only to lose on the final lap!! Or Michael Jordan playing an amazing game, scoring 63 points and still lose to the Celtics!! As I said, Rory will be the next Sergio! Like Sergio, Rory has all the potential, the hype, the fans, support from his fellow countrymen/women, the media and, yes the AMERICAN Tiger Haters! What remains to be seen, is will Rory deliver??? And one Major doesn't get it done! Tiger haters rag on Woods for ONLY have 14 Majors. He never reach 18 they say. Well, that may be true. Rory is 13 shy of Woods and 17 shy of Jack, yet Rory gets more credit for i Major than Woods does for 14! Go figure. Agreed, lets see how Rory's record stacks up when he's a 30 something golfer! Sounds like more wishful thinking for Rory! Meaning, he has time to best Woods and Jack! Too funny!

Hey, blandschoot, can the same apply to Woods? His off the links issues not relevant. Comments/Blogs about Woods, his play, and his personal life is beyond bashing. Face it, Rory is just another unwilling participant in a long line of hopefuls pushed to erase Woods and his achievements from golf! Young Guns and Old Gunslingers alike have tried. All have failed. I took Woods himself and his wife to take him out of the game of golf...for a while!! Sad thing is, NOBODY stepped up, while Woods was out! Certainly not Lefty! Nobody put a strangle hold on the PGA! So, now let the excuses for Rory begin! 1. He's just a kid! 2. He's learning! 3. He's in a slump! 4. He has time! 5. He's under too much pressure! 6. He's lost his confidence! 7. People (His countrymen/women and Tiger Haters) expect too much from him! Yes, indeed. My crystal ball says..."Rory will be the next Sergio Garcia"!! Sergio was thought of and predicted take out Woods and be the next big thing in golf! Sound familiar? Okay folks, what do we remember most about Sergio? Two things! 1. Multiple waggles before teeing off! 2. His joyful leap in 1999 PGA Championship! Other than those two things, what has Sergio "The Kid" Garcia done? OBTW, Garcia is now 32! Rory is 23! Time for Rory to get going if wants to avoid a Garcia like career.

don't understand why you think he's the next sergio garcia. sergio obviously hasn't won a major yet while rory played some amazing golf last year at the open and blew away the field breaking some us open records along the way. last time i checked sergio hasn't done anything like that. no disrespect to sergio though he just hasn't gotten the job done yet, but hope he does some day. and the age difference also clouds your statement considering we have no idea how things will turn out. just let the boy play and see how he ends up.

Wow! That's the definition of finding a silver lining of a cloud, when he is leading the tournament on the 16th tee by 2 shots, and finishes T10. Down the stretch he goes +3. Yes gotta agree with you, that's really rounding into form. He finished T10 with the B flight players I wouldn't go betting the farm on boy wonder just yet.

dang guys i didnt mean to cause all this fuss about it. im sorry about saying all that stuff man shouldn't have said the things i did. im new to these boards and it just seems like everyone has a personal agenda against some players. they go out of their way to tell them how horrible they play and its just like really? you can say what you want, just didnt realize how much people on this board hate the guy. just think its sad is all.
