May 17: Manager Joe Girardi said Youkilis (back) will take batting practice "pretty soon," the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Youkilis has already resumed playing catch and fielding grounders, so getting some swings in will cover the full gamut of baseball-related activities. He remains without a timetable for his return and could require a rehab stint.
