May 20: Aardsma agreed to a minor league contract with the Mets on Monday. Aardsma was looking for a major league deal after being granted his release by the Marlins last week, but having failed to secure that, he ended up signing a minor league deal with the Mets. He posted a 2.57 ERA in 10 games with Triple-A New Orleans, so though he won't immediately join the big club, he could be an option in the near future.
