Its amazing how we tend to deify these college coaches ala Joe Paterno & Coach K!!! The sad truth is that anyone of 50 College Coaches could coach this Olympic Team and do a great job at it as well if provided an opportunity so.............. Never said it was easy but I did imply it is possible and it is because there are least 50 College coaches that these players have played for or against that would command their respect and cooperation. Coach K IS NOT a special coach that stands above all other coaches simply because his talented teams win more ballgames. Stop it!!!

Also, most of these players (and most importantly Kobe and Lebron) never played in college for or against any college coaches. I completely disagree with you that there are 50 college coaches that would command their respect the way that Coach K does. I guess we will agree to disagree. And your last comment I am not sure how to respond to. Does that mean John Wooden was a bad coach because he had the most talent? Part of college basketball is recruiting. Yes, Duke gets good players, but back when I went to Duke (1986-1991) we went to 4 final fours in 5 years. Believe me, Coach K was not coaching the most talented teams in America. John Smith, Robert Brickey, Quin Snyder, Phil Henderson , Alaa Abdelnaby etc..... was not an all star team that he took to the final four. Or his 1994 team with Grant Hill and a bunch of nobodys. Anybody that thinks Coach K has the most wins in the NCAA but is not a special coach is a hater or not very wise.

I disagree. Coach K has Kobe's, Lebron's and the rest of the teams respect. I am do not believe a lot of other college coaches (certainly not 50) would have that. Does the name Larry Brown and 2004 Olympics ring a bell? You might think it is easy to coach this or any "dream" team, but I don't think it is easy as you say it is.

Nerlo- You should not be talking **** about any team playing away games and quality of schedule. If I am not mistaken, you are a Syracuse fan. A team that usually never plays outside the state of New York until January and is on the annual "cup cake" list of Dukie V. The orange and Jimmy B cried about not making the tournament in 2006 and 2007, but there schedule was so crappy both years, they didn't get in!!

Oh that's right, because you so desperately want to see Duke lose that you get mad when they don't play on the road which would increase their chances of losing. Not many big time programs play mid-majors on the home floor (I know, UNC plays mid-majors on their home floor, go hang a banner like you do for everything else).

I love all the comments that bash K for his coaching of this team and "anyone could coach this team to a gold" etc.......People seem to forget that the US Men's team lost in the 2002 World Championship and the 2004 Olympics. Since Coach K took over, they have won every tournament they have played in. Just win baby.
