It will start paying off soon. Richt had to learn the tough lesson of firing coaches and friends as coaches. That process is completed and the rewards will be sugary sweet.

Good move. Just because the NCAA allows it doesn't mean that it is the ethical thing to do. I think a lot of coaches respect the job that Bill O'Brein is trying to do and recognize that taking these players could doom his career as a head coach. It is something that is usually strictly forbidden and I think it just feels dirty to a lot of coaches. Some of it is a PR move also. Lane Kiffin being the first guy to jump in there even makes it seem more wrong. Go Dawgs, Roll Tide!

After years of under-signing and a hideous rate of discipline-related attrition, Richt decides to stay classy. I am sure we don't need any depth, particularly on the OL or defensive backfield. And we don't need any experience at RB or big-play ability at WR. And how many starts do we have between kicker and punter? Thanks, Coach, for once again choosing not to do what is necessary to make sure we have enough quality players to win at a high level. Stay classy though.

Like many teams, I'm sure the UGA coaches scouted out some players that would fill needs. When asked whether they would they confirmed so much. I'm sure after speaking with the PSU coach that Coach Richt decided not pursuing them was the right thing to do out of respect for Coach O'Brien. This is me speculating of course, but I'd bet that's how it went down. Besides, the prospects for 30 (+) scholarships might be more intriguing than moving for out of state Big 10 players. Perhaps they don't see any of the players they think would fit. Again, speculation.

you do realize that UGA has the toughest drug/alcohol policy in the SEC right? At Ole Miss players are allowed four chances involving drug and alcohol infractions. Also look at UF during the Meyer years. How many chances did Janoris Jenkins get?

I am mad because the players don't seem to be afraid of getting in trouble. It seems we have had a lot more key suspensions in big games and transfers from the program than our competitors. It has been this way for years. If you look at the number of scholarship players that we have (not counting walk-ons who were given scholarships when others left), it is like we are on severe probation. Who SHOULD we blame?

I think it has more to do with Coach Richt having respect for PSU's current coaching staff and players who are going to try to coach past this insanely criminal PSU history. O'Brien himself said it would be fine if other teams recruited his players but that he would like a courtesy call from the head coach.
