Feyenoord have announced that Netherlands centre-back Ron Vlaar will join Aston Villa on a three-year deal, subject to a medical next week.
Vlaar, 27, will undergo a medical on Monday ahead of a move to Paul Lambert's side after a protracted negotiation.
The defender will become the Villans fourth summer signing, following Matthew Lowton, Brett Holman and Karim El Ahmadi through the doors at Villa Park.
Vlaar told Feyenoord's official website: "It's a strange feeling to leave Feyenoord, but it's a dream come true to play in the Premier League.
"We [the club and myself] spoke again today and sorted some things out. It was a lively conversation and Aston Villa apologised for the way they acted in the last weeks.
"I can imagine that the Feyenoord fans, at this moment, aren't happy with me, but I hope they understand why I'm leaving."
